*αἰγλίς

*αἰγλίς
*αἰγλίς, -ίδος
Meaning: `speck in the eye' (Gall.)
Origin: XX [etym. unknown]
Etymology: The form is reconstructed for αἰγίς and ἀγλίη(ς); cf. also αἰγιαλίδες H. [if I understand this correctly]; see CEG 4 s.v. αἰγίς (derived from αἴγλη). Or must we reconstruct *ἀγλις?
